- Phil Wright makes a good point in his reply; namely that the GVP I/O extender is a
- serial/parrallel port extender, not a SCSI controller. However, I will assume you
- meant that your pal has a GVP Imact series I or II Hard Card installed in his A2000.
- With that in mind, I can tell you that a cable which will run your hard drives and
- tape drive from the DB-25 connector on the back of the A3000 will also run those same
- hard drives and tape drive when connected to the DB-25 connector on the back of a GVP
- SCSI hard card. I have done this with both the hard card (Zorro slot) version of the
- GVP controller and the A500 HD+ and A530 turbo controllers. (In fact, you could even
- chain 2 of the A500 HD+ units together, so long as only one was actually connected to
- an A500... Connected with a standard parrallel cable, the unit connected to the 500
- motherboard was able to see the drive in the second unit sitting next to it, and since
- the second unit wasn't connected to a motherboard, it's SCSI controller never
- initialized. Neat!)
